How does ClickPatrol prevent false positives?
To avoid false positives, ClickPatrol does not block by IP address alone. It evaluates 800+ signals, including device fingerprints and behavior, across shared carrier, office and hotel networks.
-
How to use ClickPatrol API tokens
Use an HTTP GET request to check any IP address directly from your systems. Access requires an active paid plan and a dashboard token; the beta API may change without notice.
-
How to properly test ClickPatrol across Google Ads and other advertising channels
Measure protection first: did suspicious, invalid, repeated or low-quality traffic stop entering your campaigns? Then assess CPA and other performance gains from cleaner traffic.
-
How to exclude placements
Review every website or app that generated ad clicks, compare the traffic ClickPatrol classified as legitimate or suspicious, and exclude low-quality properties from future delivery.
-
How to set click threshold rules
Set custom frequency limits in Configuration → Settings to block an IP after too many ad clicks, such as 3 clicks in 10 minutes, alongside ClickPatrol's automatic detection.
-
How to configure traffic protection settings
Adjust ClickPatrol's traffic protection settings: VPN, proxy, dark web, unknown devices and AI bots, plus Monitor Only Mode. We advise leaving the rules on Algorithm.
-
How to schedule blocked IP removal
Use Blocked IP Cleanup on the Settings tab to schedule the removal of all blocked IPs, so your block list rebuilds from scratch.
-
How to whitelist or blacklist IPs
Manage IPs by hand in ClickPatrol: whitelist addresses that must never be blocked, blacklist addresses that must stay blocked, and manage both lists.
-
How to exclude campaigns from updates
Use the Exclusion tab to keep specific campaigns or ad groups out of ClickPatrol updates while the rest of your account stays protected.
